How to download Facebook videos with Reeloops
Reeloops downloads any public Facebook video — Pages, Groups, Watch, shared posts, and personal profile videos — as clean HD MP4 in original quality. Open the video on facebook.com or in the Facebook app, tap the share menu, choose Copy Link, paste it into the download bar above, and hit Download. The MP4 lands on your device in seconds. No Facebook login, no app install, no Chrome extension, no signup. Works on iPhone, Android, iPad, Mac, and Windows. We never re-encode, so the file is byte-identical in visual quality to the original upload.
What kinds of Facebook videos work?
Reeloops supports every public video format Facebook hosts. Regular feed videos uploaded by Pages, public Groups, and public profiles all download as MP4. Facebook Watch videos — both episodes and standalone uploads — work the same way. Live broadcasts that were saved by the host after the stream ended can be downloaded once they're posted as on-demand video. Shared video posts (where someone shares another account's video) work too — paste the share link and Reeloops resolves it to the original source. The format we deliver is always MP4, which plays natively on every device, browser, and editing app without codec installations.
Why people download Facebook videos
Page admins and social media managers archive their own videos for cross-posting to YouTube, LinkedIn, TikTok, and Instagram. Marketing teams download competitor video ads for analysis and reference. News organizations and journalists save Facebook Live recordings and event videos as primary-source material. Community managers archive Group videos before posts are removed or members leave. Real estate agents save property tour videos that clients posted to public Pages. Educators download educational videos from public Pages for offline classroom use. Many personal users save meaningful videos — family events, friend uploads, community moments — before they get buried in the feed. Reeloops handles every one of these cases without a Facebook login.
What Reeloops doesn't do — and why that's a feature
Reeloops can't access private profiles, closed Groups, audience-restricted posts, or videos that require being logged in as a specific friend to view. That's intentional. Downloading private content would require your Facebook credentials, and we deliberately never ask for them — no login means no risk of your Facebook account ending up compromised through us. We also don't notify the video owner that you downloaded their video; Facebook doesn't track downloads any more than it tracks screenshots of public posts. We don't log links, don't store files after delivery, don't run third-party trackers, and don't have a premium tier or daily download cap.
Facebook video download troubleshooting
If a Facebook video link won't download, the most common cause is that the video is set to a restricted audience — Friends only, custom audience, or private Group. Reeloops can only download videos that are publicly viewable. The second most common cause is a deleted or removed video; if the creator or Facebook took it down between when you copied the link and when you pasted it, the download will fail. Try a different public video to confirm the tool is working. For very long videos, give the download a minute to assemble — closing the tab early will interrupt the file. Address-bar URLs sometimes include session tokens; using the share-menu link is more reliable. On iOS Safari, downloads land in the Files app under Downloads, not the Photos library; you can move them manually if needed.
